Guided tour every Sunday 12.30pm

Familiar images were important and the framework in the exhibition consists of highlights from Scandinavian art - such as Carl Larsson, Anders Zorn, Bruno Liljefors, August Strindberg, Vilhelm Hammershøi, Eilif Peterssen, L.A. Ring, Richard Bergh and Bertha Wegmann. At the same time, it is important to present artists who may have been overshadowed by the most famous, but who in their time were highly respected. Sometimes even higher than the artists we know best today.

In our time, there has also been an increased interest in female artists, and we are proud that 11 of the 39 artists in the exhibition are women, who contribute 15 of the 70 exhibited works. Artists such as Elisabeth Keyser, Hanna Pauli, Sofie Werenskiold, Anna Boberg and Emma Löwstedt-Chadwick can be new acquaintances for many, who are worth bringing along.

The exhibition's paintings are taken from an exciting era in the history of art. The oldest painting was done by Hans Fredrik Gude in 1879, while the newest was painted by Helmer Osslund in 1910. We can safely say that we are in a time where the changes in the view of what art can and should be, created a golden age.
