Lower Colour Mill
For a deep dive into Cobalt Works’ historical archives and documents, the Lower Colour Mill, formerly known as the Glass Pavilion, is the place to go.
Here you can browse through hundreds of pages of transcribed letters and other documents processed at our documentation center, which date from the era when cobalt-blue glass production was in full swing.
Be sure to visit the wheelhouse, where historical objects are exhibited and other displays detail the people and highlights of Cobalt Works’ history. The wheelhouse is built up into the foundation wall of the large water wheel that once supplied Blaafarveværket with power for millstones and other processes.
