Lower Colour Mill

For a deep dive into Cobalt Works’ historical archives and documents, the Lower Colour Mill, formerly known as the Glass Pavilion, is the place to go.

Scroll through many hundreds of pages of transcribed letters and other documents from the archives, prosessed at our documentation center, from the days when the production of cobalt pigment was on its heights.

Also visit the wheelhouse attached. Here we display historical objects and present highlights and key figures from history. The wheel house is built into the foundation wall of the large water wheel that supplied the Blaafarveværket with power for millstones and other grinding processes.
