Ida Lorentzen Museum
Ida Lorentzen is one of our foremost visual artists. She has dedicated her work to creating and recreating life in empty spaces. In 2001, Ida Lorentzen began studying the rooms in The director's residence at Nyfossumin the search for an understanding of how life unfolded in the building. This work resulted in a permanent exhibition and what we now call the Ida Lorentzen Museum.
Wandering through living rooms, bedrooms and children's rooms, you'll discover her gorgeous images. The motifs are from the cool elegance of the house. Through them, you will be able to better understand what life in such a home might have been like in the 19th century.
Visit Nyfossum and experience a dozen pastels in the Ida Lorentzen Museum. The motifs are both reminders of a room you've just passed through and a harbinger of a room to come.
