NRK's Portrait Championship at Blaafarveværket
NRK is back with a new season of The Portrait Championship and the first episode was recorded at Blaafarveværket.
Last summer, we were approached to look at Blaafarveværket as a possible filming location for an episode of The Portrait Championship. After a couple of visits with the production, it became clear that the first episode would be filmed here. Very exciting and something that we think fits like a glove.
Over the years, we have gained a lot of experience in being recording location. Film, TV and advertising have filmed with us in small and large productions. This time we had an extra element of excitement, namely secrecy. It was a goal for the production to keep the celebrities to be portrayed a secret.
Now that the cat's out of the bag and the programme is ready, we can also tell you who we had visiting. As in season 1, the programme is hosted by Mikkel Niva. He is joined by NRK art critic Mona Pahle Bjerke and artist Lars Elling as judges. Among the participants in this year's season we find the well-known artist Vebjørn Sand. And here's who's portrayed in the episode recorded on our premises. Calle Hellevang-Larsen is one of Norway's most popular comedians and known from a number of TV programmes, "Raske menn" and as an actor. Fetisha Williams is an influencer, podcast host and well-known from his participation in TV programmes such as "71 degrees north", "Camp kulinaris" and "Bloggerne".
The programme premiered on online TV on Wednesday 29 January and will be broadcast on NRK 1 on Saturday 1 February at 21:00.
With Glasshytten as a backdrop, we hope the programme will inspire viewers to visit Blaafarveværket this summer when we open on 24 May. The exhibition "The sunshine painter, Hans Dahl" will be worth taking with you!
