Concert: Oskar Abel V. Halvorsen

Oskar Abel Valand Halvorsen (born 1998) is an award-winning Norwegian classical pianist and composer from Oslo. He trained at the Barratt Due Music Institute, the Norwegian Academy of Music and in Vienna, under renowned mentors such as Håvard Gimse and Christian Ihle Hadland.

Halvorsen has made a strong mark on the Norwegian classical music scene through his unique choice of repertoire. He combines traditional masterpieces with rare and forgotten pieces by lesser-known composers. Among other things, he has performed as a soloist with orchestras, appeared at major festivals such as the Oslo Chamber Music Festival, and garnered widespread acclaim for performing Wilhelm Stenhammar’s complete piano works in a single evening.
