Drammen Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1919. The orchestra consists of talented amateur musicians from the Drammen region, and has been active for over 100 years. The orchestra has been a ”springboard” for many professional musician careers. An impressive number of opera, operetta and ballet performances, church concerts, symphony and soloist concerts, popular concerts and family concerts are on the orchestra's track record. The orchestra was awarded Drammens Sparebank's Honorary Prize in 1986 and Drammen Municipality's Culture Prize in 1999 and 2019. Drammen Symphony Orchestra aims to be the region's orchestra with a varied programme offering. The orchestra holds concerts both in Drammen and the surrounding area.
For this concert, the orchestra is collaborating with Drammen Culture School, where our talented soloists are drawn from.
